Editing last scene - jogger scene

Filming record

During this lesson we recorded the princess scene. our props were black wedge heels and a purple lipstick. lolade played the princess girl and we completed this scene.

However as our scene took place just outside there was of course things we had difficulties with such as random people walking on the pavement and suddenly becoming a big part of the scene. For example this.

Pitch & STORYBOARD FINAL

This was the storyboard we created roughly outlining the scenes and pictures we would have for the two minute film we're producing. This would give our audience a rough idea and what our film was going to be about and the types of things they'd see.

Bloopers

Here is a short clip showing some of the mistakes we made while filming "the candi club" film. we used a software called camtasia 2 to create this clip.

Editing in Progress

Editing In Progress:

ozge and lolade are using a software called camtasia 2 in order to make a short clip showing the behind the scenes of 'the candi club'.

lolade is also working on blogging some of the activities we have been involved in.
shah and liban are working on editing some of the scenes from "the candi club".

ozge is also working on a short clip that will demonstrate the problems we had while filming on public transport.

Difficulties with filming on public transport

problems with filming on public transport:

  •  During our filming task we found that it was rather difficult sometimes to steady the camera on the actor. we also found that the traffic lights would often stop the bus too quickly causing our equipment to move from the position we set it on.
  • Also when the local residents got on the bus there was alot of noise that followed them in.  There were also children ages 3-6 that borded the bus and so it was quite difficult to focus with all the noise they were making
  • The seating plan in the bus made it quite difficult to record some of our shots mainly because the spaces were tight.
  • The lighting on the bus was unpredictable so therefore we had to re-shoot some of the shots.
  • we could often times feel the vibrations of the trains passing  when filming. this affected some of our recording.

Opening Film Identity

As you can see this was one of the main props used in our film opening which was seen at the beginning of the scene. This is very effective as it straight away identifies and establishes Candi Club and the logo and name of the college. This sets off the scene and gives the audience a clue of what it will be about and that it seems something very positive and adventurous giving them related assumptions. The main point is that it sets off the scene and establishes the film opening as well as that it all relates throughout the opening giving a beautiful effect and understanding with the audience linking everything together and official.

Shot by Shot List

Own Film Opening Ideas, Discussion and Plan

For our own 2 minute opening teen film, we decided to conduct a discussion between ourselves to share ideas and take into consideration everyone’s opinions for the final outcome. There were mainly two ideas which were built on. The first idea was to create a thriller, comedy drama genre type film opening. We expanded by planning out what could happen and what it will involve as well as the various locations we came up with and creativity. The second idea was to do a comedy, adventure teen film opening which was to do with friends who had completely different characteristics and were unique in their own way travelling from home to college and meeting up.

However there were implications and disagreements for the first idea which were filming locations, voice overs and creativity which were not possible or too risky to do therefore dropping marks and being a huge liability. After some thought and reconsideration we went ahead with the second idea which was straight forward and realistic and also very creative without exceeding the boundaries. There was going to be three characters, the geek, the princess and the jogger/athlete. We agreed that I will be one of the main characters with the geek role. We also had a lot of inspiration from the breakfast club which had various similarities with our characters and therefore gave us ideas to state our final idea. So we finalised a shot by shot list which showed our planned scenes to be filmed and did a storyboard as well as a presentation of our main original ideas that we have concluded to.
