For our own 2 minute opening teen
film, we decided to conduct a discussion between ourselves to share ideas and
take into consideration everyone’s opinions for the final outcome. There were
mainly two ideas which were built on. The first idea was to create a thriller,
comedy drama genre type film opening. We expanded by planning out what could
happen and what it will involve as well as the various locations we came up
with and creativity. The second idea was to do a comedy, adventure teen film opening
which was to do with friends who had completely different characteristics and
were unique in their own way travelling from home to college and meeting up.
However there were implications
and disagreements for the first idea which were filming locations, voice overs
and creativity which were not possible or too risky to do therefore dropping
marks and being a huge liability. After some thought and reconsideration we
went ahead with the second idea which was straight forward and realistic and
also very creative without exceeding the boundaries. There was going to be
three characters, the geek, the princess and the jogger/athlete. We agreed that
I will be one of the main characters with the geek role. We also had a lot of
inspiration from the breakfast club which had various similarities with our
characters and therefore gave us ideas to state our final idea. So we finalised
a shot by shot list which showed our planned scenes to be filmed and did a
storyboard as well as a presentation of our main original ideas that we have
concluded to.
