Evaluation Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media product?

As you can see from above the conventions of film openings, title sequences and evidence of our film relating to other teen movies in a variety of ways. Firstly I believe we have followed many conventions in the opening of our teen film Candi Club as we would have liked. Our opening was based on typical teen film stereotypes which was a success and very clear to see.

The title sequence of Candi Club:

Breakfast Club had a similar title sequence when compared to ours:

Secondly the title sequence is in a strict order is very important. The opening credits are first about the most important actors in the film ahead of the production, distribution companies and title. The reason is because if they are well known actors with high reputation the audience will be mainly coming to see them due to the success they brought to the film industry. The title comes after the production and distribution companies who are the films ident.

Candi Club & Breakfast Club Camera Shots and Mise-en-scene by Slidely Slideshow

Finally the slidely above is displaying the different camera shots and mise-en-scene which we used that are similar to other teen movies in this case we compared it to Breakfast Club which was very similar to our opening indeed. It is clear that we had a lot in common and similarities from shot types to mise-en-scene. For example in the geek scene I am traveling to college by bus which is a form of transport whereas in the Breakfast Club the geek is traveling in a car. Also we used a lot of medium close ups when viewing the characters face which were also used in Breakfast Club.
