Reflective Blog Post - Editing

Me and Liban shared the full responsibility of editing due to us being more used to the technical hardware and software. It was agreed that minimum two people shall edit to get the best out of editing due to one person will not only be reliable enough but cannot be very critical of his own work and will be tired and will need focus to get the editing done. Editing was very stressful and quite a big challenge with limited time and there could not any any complacency at this time or underestimation. Me and Liban worked very hard together and thrived as we both had disagreements and had to make crucial decisions as well and motivating each other and teaching each other a few skills and ideas to get the best possible out of editing.

Personally editing was a huge part where I had enhanced my skills and applied everything from ideas to key skills and professionalism. According to our final cut our editing was top draw and very professional which we expected and were very satisfied by the feedback as there was no negative or feedbacks suggesting improvement all but just praise and complements. I had thoroughly enjoyed editing with Liban and facing difficulties together as well as having very good cooperation and though process with each other, none the less was near perfection at the end.

The most challenging part of editing was when there were clips that we could not use and it was far too late to re-film but we exceptionally moved on from that and made it look like nothing was ever missing. Another struggle was the sound as we had to adjust both sound and natural clip sound to get the right effect as well as chopping copyright free clips to get a specific part of that sound clip. But overall everything was a success and dealt with professionally and the outcome was far greater than what we had first imagined.

I learnt that editing is one of the most important and vital stages in a film due to the way it communicates with the audience and lets them understand the right intention with ease without having to work out what is going on or losing their interest. Also how it makes filming seem way more interesting by having various different camera shots and sounds than just having one camera shot same all the way through.
